Program Degrowth Summerschool

The 5th Degrowth summer school „All villages remain -worldwide“ will take place from 4 to 8 August at the Climate Camp Leipzig in Pödelwitz. With the summer school we want to support the resistance of people from the village of Pödelwitz, which is threatened by excavation, as well as the resistance of people all over the world, whose villages and livelihoods are threatened by the consequences of climate change and the hunger for resources of growth-oriented economic and social systems.

The courses will take place for four days with a fixed group of people. From now on you can sign up for the courses online. The number of participants for each course is limited.

We will specifically address the future perspectives for the local village of Pödelwitz. The village is in danger to be evicted and dug away in order to proceed with climate-damaging lignite mining. The villagers resist and fight for a future without coal.

Furthermore you can look forward to panels about „Colonial Continuities in Climate Activism and Climate Policy of the Global North“ or „Against the rise of the (extreme) right. For a climate of justice“ as well as theatre, concerts, collectively cooked food and the inspiring atmosphere of a self organized climate camp.
